iPhone 3D Camera With Panorama4D: Face Detection
Per Phones Review in the UK:
The big technology of today is looking to be 3D, with numerous smartphone makers working on pushing out 3D enabled devices, something Apple hasn’t yet done with their iOS gear. But that doesn’t mean iOS users have to miss out on that 3D action.
The Panaorama4D iOS app can apparently turn your iPhone into a 3D camera and works with the iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G and the Apple iPad 2 and is the first iOS app that enables the user to shoot 3D photos.
The Panaroma4D iOS app offers such things as Gyroscope 4D mode that delivers a 4D effect, face detection, the ability to share in 3D on Twitter and Facebook, and an Anaglyph 3D mode whereby the user puts on anaglyphs glasses to view a 3 dimensional show. Read more…

Nvidia Unveils 3D Software For HDTV
Computer graphics maker Nvidia unveiled 3DTV Play software, which will let users connect 3D notebooks and desktops running its 3D Vision technology to 3D high-definition TVs for a “big-screen entertainment experience,” the company said.
Any compatible Nvidia GeForce graphics processing unit (GPU)-powered system running the 3DTV Play software can be connected to an HDMI 1.4 3D HD TV, the company said, letting users view 3D photos and videos on a larger screen. They will also be able to play some 500 games in 3D — more than any other platform — according to Nvidia. When the compatible video playback software is employed, users can also watch Blu-ray 3D movies in full 1080 stereoscopic 3D, along with HD digital surround sound with an HDMI connection to a compatible audio/video receiver. Game titles include StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, Mafia II, and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Adobe Flash 11 will feature a proper 3D rendering engine and API
The next version of Flash, amidst growing competition from emerging 3D-in-the-browser technologies WebGL and O3D, will feature support for 3D graphics.
But don’t get too excited just yet — we’ll probably have to wait until October and the Adobe MAX 2010 conference before we find out more. There, on October 27th, a Flash player engineer will give a talk about “the next-generation 3D API coming in a future version of Flash Player.” How exciting is that?!

PowerDVD 10 Ultra Mark II Update is Now Officially Available
As promised Cyberlink has released the Mark II update for PowerDVD 10 that adds support for Blu-ray 3D Movie playback capabilities to the software player. The Mark II patch is free for the owners of Ultra version of the software and updates PowerDVD 10 Ultra to PowerDVD 10 Ultra build 1830. There is also an updated trial version of the player available that should also come with the improved 2D to 3D conversion algorithm. Now the big question is when we are going to have some live action movies in stereo 3D format available on Blu-ray 3D media, but not documentaries, as we already have a few animated movies released that do look good in 3D…
I’m also currently doing a comparison between PowerDVD 10 Ultra Mark II and ArcSoft’s Total Media Theatre 3 Platinum + Sim3D Plugin as at this moment only these two software players can provide you with support for playing back Blu-ray 3D movies from your computer.

ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum With Blu-ray 3D Support Plugin
It seems that ArcSoft has managed to beat the competition by actually being the first company that offers Blu-ray 3D support for its premiere product for playing back movies and videos – ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum. The company has released a 3D Plug-In for TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum called Sim3D that supposedly adds Blu-ray 3D Movie decoding capabilities as well as stereo 3D video playback and 2D to 3D photo and video conversion features.
You need to have the TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum already installed (priced at $89.99 USD) and then get the Sim3D Plugin and install it (another $19.99 USD) to make everything work so the total cost for this solution if you don’t already have the TMT3 Platinum software goes to $109,98 USD which is quite expensive, but if you already have the main software the plugin comes quite cheap.
